Built inside a home care agency
First Support EMR is the software company that grew out of First Support Home Care, a licensed home care agency in Ashburn, Loudoun County, Virginia. The agency needed one system that could schedule visits, verify them for Medicaid, keep the caregivers' paperwork in order and get the claims out — and the tools on the market either did two of those or charged for five and did one well. So the agency built its own, and has run its own operation on it since.
The company exists because other agencies asked for it. What we sell is the software the agency uses, on a separate instance and database for each customer, with the people who built it a message away.
What we make
First Support Homecare
Home care software for personal-care agencies: scheduling, caregiver onboarding and documents, GPS visit verification, visit notes and vitals, Medicaid claims (837P, CMS-1500), private-pay invoicing, a family portal. The product.
First Support EVV
The Electronic Visit Verification inside it: the six Cures Act elements captured on every Medicaid visit and delivered the way each state receives them — on the claim, in a file, by API, or to the state's aggregator. EVV by state.
First Support HomeHealth
Skilled home health — clinical documentation, OASIS, the 837I — for agencies with nurses and therapists. Built and in daily use at the agency; not yet offered for sale.
How we work
- The spec is the spec. Every state's EVV connector is written to that state's published document and says which one; where a state has not published a format, we say so rather than guess.
- Your data is yours, on your own instance. Each agency runs on its own hostname and its own database, hosted on AWS under a signed Business Associate Agreement. How the software is secured.
- No sales team. The demo is a twenty-minute screen-share with someone who works on the software, and the answer to "can it do X" is a real one.
