Montana: every EVV claim goes through Mobile Caregiver+
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) provides Netsmart's Mobile Caregiver+ free to providers of services subject to EVV. An agency may use an alternate system instead, if DPHHS certifies it for Montana Medicaid and it integrates with Mobile Caregiver+ to pass the required visit data to the state.
What sets Montana apart is billing. Full EVV compliance has been required for dates of service from July 1, 2024, and every claim that requires EVV must have a compliant EVV record and be submitted through Mobile Caregiver+. A claim sent without compliant EVV data, or around Mobile Caregiver+, is denied - even for agencies whose visits are captured in another system.

Can a Montana agency bill EVV services outside Mobile Caregiver+?
No. Since July 1, 2024, claims that require EVV must be submitted through Mobile Caregiver+ with a compliant EVV record, or they are denied.
Is Montana's EVV system free?
