Kansas: AuthentiCare as the only door for EVV claims
Kansas provides AuthentiCare, a state-funded EVV system from Fiserv, at no cost to providers. It is bring-your-own-device: workers record visits in the AuthentiCare app on their smartphones or from the member's landline. An agency may use a third-party system instead, but only one approved by the state and integrated with Fiserv, so its visits can be used to verify visits and validate claims.
Kansas then made AuthentiCare the billing route. Since February 6, 2025 it has been the only approved entry point for claims on EVV services, and initial claims for those services that do not come from AuthentiCare are denied. Authorizations flow the other way: they are created and corrected in the payer's (MCO's) system and flow into AuthentiCare, and cannot be entered manually in the EVV system.

Kansas agencies live inside two sets of rules: KanCare (Kansas Department of Health and Environment)'s, and AuthentiCare's.
